Kongu School of Architecture (KSA) was established in the year 2015 by Kongu Vellalar Institute of Technology Trust at the Kongu Engineering College campus. It is the sixth institution of the Trust. Since its inception, the institution has been committed to providing quality architectural education by leveraging the academic environment, infrastructure, and facilities of Kongu Engineering College.


From the academic year 2025 onwards, Kongu School of Architecture has been merged with Kongu Engineering College and is functioning as the Department of Architecture. The Department continues to uphold the vision of excellence in architectural education while utilizing the comprehensive academic resources, laboratories, library, and campus amenities of Kongu Engineering College for the benefit of its students.


The Department of Architecture is approved by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi (TN-71) and is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai (College Code: 7378). The sanctioned intake from the academic year 2015–2016 is 40. The classes commenced on 10th August 2015.

Ar.R.RAJALAKSHMI B.Arch., M.Arch.,

Architect Rajalakshmi currently has 15 years of experience in the practice and academics of architecture. She has worked in vernacular construction firms in the past and also served in Tsunami Rehabilitation projects. Currently, she is the Head of the Department at the Kongu School of Architecture.
